ProGuard Texture is an organometallic coating that has both organic and inorganic components. Compared with traditional coatings that are inherently organic (polyurethane, acrylic, styrene acrylic etc.) our hybrid coatings have some exceptional properties such as decorative anti-carbonation and anti-graffiti functionality.
Texture coatings constitute a large proportion of Australia’s decorative coating market. These coatings were introduced to mask imperfections in concrete finishes. The coatings enable this by reflecting light off the textured surface in many different directions. With the ever increasing use of such coatings a problem has arisen where the topography of the texture finish does not allow for an even clear anti-graffiti coating to be applied to protect the surface from graffiti attack.
ProGuard Texture is the first coating of its type where the anti-graffiti property is inherent in the coating itself, meaning that no further anti-graffiti coatings are required to achieve both the textured look at the protection against graffiti. Architects and asset owners alike easily see the benefits of the use of ProGuard Texture coatings.
In the case of graffiti removal, most tagged surfaces may be wiped clean with a sponge and an off the shelf citrus cleaner. For graffiti that is not fresh we suggest lightly scrubbing with a nylon bristle brush after spraying the graffiti with a suitable cleaner and allowing it to penetrate and lift the graffiti from the surface prior to a high pressure wash or cloth clean down.
