Epoxy floor coatings are a popular choice for commercial, industrial and residential applications. These coatings provide an extremely durable and aesthetically pleasing finish that is easy to clean and maintain. They are resistant to chemicals, impact, water and UV damage, making them an ideal choice for garages, warehouses, industrial buildings, basements and even homes.

Epoxy coatings come in both clear, glossy finishes or pigmented with coloured chips for a more decorative look. Most epoxy floor coatings are applied as two-part systems consisting of a resin and a hardener which are mixed together just prior to application. This combination creates a strong, long lasting bond between the substrate and the coating providing a solid layer that is highly resistant to chipping, fading and wear.

The installation process for epoxy floor coatings requires careful preparation of the substrate before hand. The surface must be clean, smooth, and dry before applying the coating. Once the area is properly prepped it is ready for the resin and hardener to be mixed together and applied. Finally, once the coating has dried, it can be sealed to provide an even longer lasting finish as well as a more attractive look.

While NANOKOTE’s ProGuard coating for Infrastructure can be used to coat floors we have also developed a dedicated high end epoxy floor coating that is free of double bonds and is non-toxic, chemically stable, UV resistant, thermally stable and weather resistant.  This product can be used in both internal and external applications.

This coating also has applications outside just floors as it can be applied to many other surfaces including steel.  Ships, bridges and other metal parts and fan blade are just some of the applications.  Even medical applications are feasible as this material is non-toxic.

New or Existing floor (including oily floors) – no grinding

Coating existing floors has traditionally required a diamond grind (potentially multiply grinds starting with course and working to a fine finish).  This is time consuming and add significant cost to rejuvenating the look of a concrete floor.  NANOKOTE has developed a high surface tolerable floor coating that can be applied directly to oily, old concrete floors.

A simply pre-clean and removal of debris is all that is required to achieve a long-term, durable coating that will not lift.
